The International Golf Course sits at Badhoevedorp in Noord-Holland, and its designer is its calling card: Ian Woosnam, a Masters champion, laid out these 18 holes with Mastergolf. The club describes ground that moves more than most Dutch golf — altitude changes of up to 14 metres, water hazards set through the round, and hilly terrain between the holes that gives each fairway a real sense of seclusion. It plays to par 73 over 5,311 metres, in a parkland setting that stays green and cared for all year.
Golfers rate it highly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.9 out of 10 from 383 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.8 out of 5 across 124 reviews (checked 25 September 2026) — strong numbers that match a course built for a genuine test. It is NGF-affiliated, so a valid handicap (GVB) is part of playing here.
Suits: this is a championship layout, so it rewards the confident player first — someone who already shapes the ball, reads a slope, and enjoys smart bunkering and water that asks a real question off every tee. Ambitious improvers who want somewhere to stretch their game will feel right at home.
The International is a private members club, so a current member introduces or accompanies you rather than a visitor booking a straight green fee. Tee times are managed online through the club at theinternational.nl. On site there is a full covered driving range, a putting green, a short-game area, practice bunkers, and a golf academy — everything to warm up properly before a demanding card. Afterwards the restaurant, bar, and terrace round off the day, with lockers and showers for comfort.
★ Suits: confident players ready for slope, water hazards, and championship-level bunkering; ambitious improvers building course-management skills.

Marina's note for learners
Courses with real elevation change reveal exactly where a swing breaks down — the uneven lies here are the shots that decide a scorecard. I always work on sloped stances and weight transfer before a student takes on a test like this.

Uneven lies — ball above the feet, below the feet, on a downhill stance — are the shots that decide your score on ground like this, and they are exactly the part of the game I love teaching before a player takes on a course with this much character.
The International is a private members-only club — you need a current member to introduce or accompany you. If you know a member, it is well worth arranging a visit: the course and clubhouse experience are highly rated by golfers.

Yes, online tee-time booking is available through the club's website at theinternational.nl. Members can log in and reserve their slot in advance.
The International has a covered driving range, putting green, short-game area, and practice bunkers to warm up before your round, plus a golf academy for lessons, a restaurant, bar and terrace, lockers, showers, and buggy rental.
The International plays at championship level — 18 holes designed with altitude changes, water hazards, and smart bunkering — so it is best enjoyed once you already have a few rounds under your belt. Building your skills first makes a real difference.
Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, not at The International. A series of lessons at either location is a great way to build the course management and uneven-lie technique that a design like this rewards.
