Noordwijkse Golfclub opened in 1915, which makes it one of the oldest clubs still playing over the same coastline. It is an 18-hole, par-72 links of 4,919 metres, laid out in the protected Natura 2000 dunes of Kennemerland-Zuid, right along the North Sea. The design carries the work of Frank Pennink and Paul de Jong (Cotton, Pennink, Lawrie & Co). Between 1978 and 2001 the club hosted the Dutch Open nine times, so the pros have tested these fairways again and again.
Golfers rate it highly. On LeadingCourses it scores 8.7 out of 10 from 444 ratings, and in the 2026 Golfers’ Choice it took second place in South Holland and eighth in the whole country. On Hole19 golfers give it 4.8 out of 5 across 89 ratings (checked 25 September 2026). The recurring theme is the dune landscape — wide, open grassland, sea views, and the firm, rolling ground that gives real links golf its character.
Suits: experienced golfers who want a championship links test with the wind as a partner; players drawn by the Dutch Open history and the Kennemerland dunes; and juniors, who are warmly welcome here — the club runs its own junior programme, a fine place for a young player to learn true links golf.
This is a members-with-introduction course, so a visitor plays as a guest of a member or arranges access with the secretariat. A valid handicap (GVB or equivalent) is required, and there is no online booking — you call 0252-373763 or email secretariaat@noordwijksegolfclub.nl to plan your day. The 18-hole green fee is €190, which makes it a special-occasion round rather than an everyday one.
For practice, the club has a driving range, a putting green and a short-game area, plus its own golf academy. A pro shop, restaurant, lockers and showers, and buggy and trolley rental round out a full day at the coast.
★ Suits: experienced golfers seeking a championship links test in the wind; players drawn by Dutch Open history and Kennemerland dune terrain; juniors with the club's dedicated programme.

Marina's note for learners
A links in the dunes asks for a different game than a parkland course — the wind shapes every shot, so I work on a repeatable swing and a controlled, lower ball flight with students planning a round here. Knowing when to play safe and let the ground work for you is one of the most rewarding skills to practise.

A links in the dunes plays nothing like a sheltered parkland course. The wind touches every shot, the ground is firm, and the smart play is often the low, running one rather than the high, brave one. Before a round on a course like Noordwijk, I work with students on a repeatable swing and a controlled, lower ball flight — and on the quiet skill of knowing when to play safe and let the ground do the work.

This is a championship links in the dunes — rewarding but demanding. Golfers with a handicap and some experience will enjoy it most. If you are working toward your handicap, a lesson with Marina at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht or Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen is a great way to prepare.
