Kennemer Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. The club dates back to 1910, and its course was shaped by two famous hands: Harry S. Colt, who laid out the design in 1927, and Frank Pennink, who added a third loop in 1985. Today the club lists 27 holes, par 72, running as three nine-hole loops through a natural dune landscape near Zandvoort.
Golfers rate it highly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.8 out of 10 from 373 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.8 out of 5 from 113 golfers. LeadingCourses named it a Golfers’ Choice course in 2026, and ranks it #2 in Noord-Holland and #7 in the Netherlands. This is a true championship links, and the numbers show golfers feel the same.
The setting is special. The club records the course as GEO certified for sustainable management, with more than 540 species of animals, plants and fungi living across the dunes. So you play golf and share the land with real Dutch nature.
Who suits it best? A links course of this level rewards a strong, steady game first, so it fits experienced players who already have a handicap. Juniors are welcome too, and the club runs a junior program, which is lovely to see at a course with so much history.
Kennemer is an introduction-based club, so a guest plays as the guest of a member, and a valid handicap (GVB or international equivalent) is required. Online booking is available, and green fees sit in the premium band — the club lists €157.50 for 18 holes and €78.75 for 9. For practice there is a driving range, a putting green, and a full golf academy, plus a pro shop and restaurant for after the round.
★ Suits: experienced players with a valid handicap ready for a championship links, and juniors entering through the club's junior program.

Marina's note for learners
I point players toward Kennemer as a milestone to work toward — links conditions, wind play and firm turf reward every hour spent building ball control and course management. Get the fundamentals solid first, and a round here becomes something genuinely memorable.

Colt’s links fairways in the dunes reward control over raw power — the wind, the firm turf and the tight lines ask for a repeatable swing and smart club choice. That balance is exactly the part of the game I most enjoy teaching before a player takes on a course of this level.
Yes, a valid handicap (GVB or international equivalent) is required. Kennemer is also an introduction-based club, meaning you visit as a guest of a member. Check kennemergolf.nl for the current guest-day procedure.
Green fees are in the premium bracket: €157.50 for 18 holes and €78.75 for 9 holes. Rates can vary by day and season, so it is worth confirming on kennemergolf.nl before you book.
The 27-hole championship links is best enjoyed once you have a solid game and a valid handicap. Think of it as a beautiful goal to work toward — a few good lessons now will have you ready to enjoy every hole.
The club has a driving range, a putting green, and a full golf academy, plus a pro shop and restaurant. There is plenty of room to warm up before your round or to book tuition on site.
Kennemer Golf & Country Club is in Zandvoort, Noord-Holland — roughly 52 minutes by car from Utrecht via the A2/A4. Parking is available on site.
Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not at Kennemer itself. A lesson with Marina is a great way to build the ball control and course-management skills that a championship links like this rewards. You can book directly online.
