One green for two holes

At Grevelingenhout, the ninth and eighteenth holes finish on the same green — one big shared putting surface you can watch from the brasserie terrace. It is the kind of detail that gives a course its own character, and it sits right at the heart of the round.

The club describes an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course, designed by Donald Harradine and opened in 1988, measuring 6,151 metres. It runs through open parkland beside the Grevelingenmeer, the wide tidal lake in Zeeland, so you play under a big, bright sky with plenty of room around you. Golfers rate it warmly: on LeadingCourses it holds 8.0 out of 10 from 370 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.3 out of 5 from 70 ratings (checked 26 September 2026).

Who enjoys it most? This is a welcoming parkland with space to breathe, so newcomers can swing freely and build confidence, while the full 18 holes and a moderate layout keep more experienced players interested. The club is beginner-friendly and runs its own junior programme — a lovely sign for families and younger players.

What a visitor needs

Grevelingenhout welcomes visitors, but you play with a valid handicap (GVB card), introduced as a guest, and a tee time is best booked online through the club’s website. A full round on the 18 holes is €65. For practice there is a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area, practice bunkers and an on-site academy — everything you need to warm up before you tee off, or to work on a weak spot.

Marina's note for learners

The covered, floodlit driving range, short-game area and on-site academy give any newcomer everything they need to prepare before stepping onto all 18 holes. I always encourage students to use every corner of a practice facility first — it is the fastest way to arrive on the first tee with real confidence.

Room to swing, room to score

Harradine gave this parkland space and length — 6,151 metres over open ground — so the round rewards a steady, repeatable swing and smart club choice more than raw power. That balance between freedom off the tee and control into the green is exactly the part of the game I most love teaching.

Good to know

Do I need a handicap or an introduction to play at Grevelingenhout?

Yes — a valid handicap (GVB card) is required, and visitors play as a guest introduced by a member. If you are still working towards your handicap, a few lessons with a PGA pro is a great way to get there.

How much is a green fee?

A full round on the 18-hole Donald Harradine parkland costs €65. For the latest seasonal rates or any special offers, check grevelingenhout.nl or call +31 111 482 650.

Can I book a tee time online?

Yes. You can reserve your tee time directly on the club's website at grevelingenhout.nl — quick and straightforward, no phone call needed.

Is Grevelingenhout suitable for beginners and juniors?

Very much so. The club is beginner-friendly and runs a dedicated junior programme. The open Harradine parkland gives newcomers plenty of space to swing freely and build confidence, while the full 18 holes keep more experienced players engaged.

Is the course accessible for golfers with limited mobility?

Yes — Grevelingenhout is wheelchair accessible, and buggy and trolley rentals are available, so every golfer can enjoy a comfortable round on this beautiful Zeeland parkland.

Can I take a lesson with Marina Romanik before playing here?

Marina does not teach at Grevelingenhout, but booking a lesson beforehand is a great way to prepare. She teaches players of all ages and levels at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — both within easy reach for anyone planning a Zeeland golf trip.
