Frank Pont laid out this parkland course on the Hondsrug, the sandy ridge that the last ice age pushed up through Drenthe. From the club’s own description, the holes wind past glacial boulders, woodland, gentle hills, rhododendrons and water — a real garden of a golf course. It is nine holes, and the green fee lets you keep it short at €20 or play a full round of eighteen for €40 by going round twice. Golfers on LeadingCourses give it 8.2 out of 10 from 204 ratings, so the good feeling is not only in the club’s own words.
The best part for a new player: you do not need a handicap or a GVB to tee off here. Golfparc Sandur is pay-and-play, visitors are welcome, and you book your tee time online. Simple.
Suits: beginners and juniors first — there is a junior program, group events and lessons on site — and any visitor who wants a relaxed, affordable round without club membership. Families are welcome too.
Practice is easy to fit in before you play. The club has a driving range and a putting green, plus a golf academy on site. Afterwards there is a restaurant with a bar and terrace, and you can rent a buggy, a trolley or a set of clubs if you travel light. Lockers and showers finish the day.
★ Suits: beginners, juniors, and families wanting affordable pay-and-play golf on a scenic parkland without a handicap requirement.

Marina's note for learners
For any player just starting out, a pay-and-play course with on-site lessons and a junior program is exactly where I send learners to build real confidence before moving on to a more demanding layout.

Frank Pont’s parkland asks for placement more than power. Water and mature trees frame the holes, so a round here rewards a swing you can repeat and a clear plan off each tee. That balance — control first, then confidence — is the part of golf I most enjoy teaching.
No handicap or GVB is required. Golfparc Sandur is a pay-and-play course open to all visitors — just book a tee time online and show up ready to play.
A green fee is €20 for 9 holes. The course has 9 holes, so a full 18-hole round costs €40 by playing the loop twice — straightforward pricing for a relaxed day out.

Yes. The course is beginner-friendly and has a junior program with lessons available on site. Group events are welcome too, making it a great choice for families or anyone just starting out.
The club has a driving range, putting green, golf academy, restaurant, bar and terrace, buggy and trolley rental, club hire, and lockers with showers — everything you need for a comfortable round.
Marina is a PGA instructor who teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not at Golfparc Sandur itself. A lesson with Marina at one of those locations is a great way to prepare before heading out to a course like this one. She teaches beginners through advanced players in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian.
