Het Rijk van Sybrook spreads over 27 holes on the edge of Enschede, in the green east of Overijssel. From the club’s own description, the course winds through mature woodland, with rhododendrons lining the fairways and several holes opening onto the typical Twente patchwork — the coulisselandschap of hedges and small fields — while others sit quietly enclosed by trees. It plays as three nine-hole loops to a par of 72, so you can go out for a full round or a short one and the mix of holes always feels a little different.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.0 out of 10 from 1,085 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.2 out of 5 from 196 ratings (checked 26 September 2026). That is a lot of golfers, and a steady, happy score across both.
This is a mature parkland course, the kind that rewards a straight, controlled shot between the trees over raw power. It suits handicap holders who enjoy a wooded, estate-style round. Families have a real home here too: there is a junior programme and lessons on site, so young players can grow into the game at their own pace.
’t Sybrook is pay-and-play and NGF-affiliated, so you do not need a membership — but you do need a valid handicap card, a Dutch GVB or a recognised equivalent, to book a round. Tee times and current rates go through the club’s website, and the course is open year-round. The green fee is €76 for 18 holes and €48 for nine.
For practice there is a covered driving range — handy when Twente weather has its own plans — plus a putting green, a short-game area, practice bunkers and a golf academy. The clubhouse has a pro shop and a restaurant, with buggy and club rental if you want to arrive light.
★ Suits: handicap holders who enjoy a mature, wooded round, families with young golfers, and players who want a complete practice set-up on site.

Marina's note for learners
For a wooded parkland that rewards straight, controlled shots, I always tell students to spend time on the driving range before heading out — a covered range and an academy on site make it easy to warm up properly before you take on those fairways.

Woodland parkland like this gives you little room for a loose drive — the fairways are framed by trees, so the round rewards a repeatable, controlled swing far more than distance. That straight, dependable shot is the part I most enjoy teaching, and it is exactly what makes a day among these fairways more relaxed and more fun.
Yes — a valid GVB card or a recognised handicap certificate is required to book a round. The course is NGF-affiliated and open to visitors without a membership, so no club subscription is needed, but a handicap card is.
An 18-hole round is €76 and a nine-hole round €48. You can book tee times and check current rates on the club's own website — no need to call ahead.
Yes — Het Rijk van Sybrook has a covered driving range (useful when Twente weather has other plans), a putting green, a short-game area, practice bunkers, and a full golf academy on site.
Very much so. There is a dedicated junior programme and lessons available on site, so young players have a real home here and families can enjoy a complete day together.
The club has a pro shop, a restaurant, and buggy and club rental, so you can arrive light and still have everything you need. The course is open year-round.
Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not at Het Rijk van Sybrook. A lesson with her is an excellent way to sharpen the straight, controlled shots that wooded parkland like this rewards; she teaches all levels and speaks Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian.
