Golfclub Sallandsche De Hoek is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. From the club’s own website it dates back to 1934, and the course sits in green parkland near Diepenveen, in Overijssel. Parkland means tree-lined fairways and a soft, mature landscape — the kind of course that has had many decades to grow into its setting.

What a visitor needs

Visitors are welcome, and you can book a tee time online through the club. You will need a valid handicap or GVB — the club plays as members-with-introduction, so it is worth arranging your visit with the secretariat first. The course is open all year round.

The green fee sits in the mid range: around €60 for 18 holes and €35 for 9. For practice there is a driving range, a putting green and the on-site academy, plus a pro shop, a restaurant and a bar with a terrace for after your round. Buggy rental is available if you would like to save your legs.

The swing this course rewards

Tree-lined parkland asks for control more than raw power — a fairway found is a shot saved, and around the greens a soft, reliable short game does the quiet work. That balance of straight driving and a calm touch is exactly the part of the game I most enjoy teaching.
