Het Rijk van Nunspeet sits on the sandy heathland of the Veluwe, in Nunspeet in Gelderland. It is laid out as 27 holes — three separate nine-hole loops you can mix and match — with a par of 72 across the full round and a measured length of 5,283 metres. Heathland golf means heather, open sightlines and firm, sandy ground that runs the ball, so club selection and a clean strike matter more than raw distance.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses the course scores 8.3 out of 10 from 2,678 ratings, and on Hole19 it holds 4.6 out of 5 from 215 reviews (checked 26 September 2026) — a big, consistent set of golfers who keep coming back to these three loops.
This is a challenging heathland layout, so it rewards experienced players who enjoy thinking their way around variety. That said, nobody is left out: the club runs a full golf academy with professional instruction, a dedicated junior program and a ladies program, so improving golfers, children and women all have a place to grow here.
A visit is simple. Het Rijk van Nunspeet is pay-and-play, so you do not need a membership or an introduction — but you do need a valid handicap card, a Dutch GVB or a foreign equivalent, before you go out. An 18-hole green fee is around €76.50, tee times can be booked online, and the course is open year-round.
For warming up there is a covered driving range, a putting green and a short-game area, with a restaurant, bar and terrace at the clubhouse when the round is done.
★ Suits: experienced players seeking varied heathland golf; improving golfers, juniors, and ladies all have dedicated programs on site.

Marina's note for learners
I always tell a player heading to a heathland course: work on a reliable, controlled tee shot before you go — heather is unforgiving, and three nines of it rewards clean contact over power. Book a lesson and that is exactly what we will focus on.

Heathland like this asks for control, not muscle. The heather punishes a loose tee shot, and the firm, running ground rewards a ball you can place rather than one you simply hit far. Before a round across three nines of it, the part I most enjoy working on with players is a reliable, repeatable tee shot — that is where good scores on the Veluwe really begin.

Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not at Het Rijk van Nunspeet. A lesson with her is a great way to build a reliable, controlled tee shot before you take on the heathland, which rewards clean contact over power. Book online, by WhatsApp, or by phone.
