Golf- & Countryclub Heiloo is a nine-hole parkland course in Heiloo, in Noord-Holland. From the club’s own website, the layout was designed by Alan Rijks and plays to a par of 34 over about 2,181 metres — a proper nine you can walk in an easy afternoon, or loop twice for a full round. Parkland means soft, green fairways lined with trees, not the wind and dunes of the coast. It is calm golf, the kind where you can settle into your rhythm.
The club is NGF-affiliated and open all year, so a bright winter morning counts just as much as a summer evening. Golfers on Hole19 rate it 4.2 out of 5 from 30 ratings — a warm score for a small, friendly club.
Visitors are welcome, and you can book a tee time online. You will want your GVB (the Dutch golf certificate) or an equal handicap before you play — this is a club that keeps the course pleasant for everyone on it. A nine-hole green fee is around €40, and eighteen holes (two loops of nine) around €65.
For practice there is a covered driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers — everything you need to warm up or to work on one weak part of your game. The club also runs its own academy and a junior programme.
Suits: beginners, families and juniors first. A gentle par-34 nine with a patient academy is exactly the place to take your first steps in golf and start to love it.
★ Suits: beginners working toward their GVB, juniors, families, and golfers who enjoy a compact, well-equipped parkland round.

Marina's note for learners
A nine-hole parkland with a covered range and short-game area is exactly where I enjoy coaching new golfers — the compact layout keeps lessons focused and lets a beginner see real progress in a single afternoon. A club that pairs an on-site academy with a junior programme is ideal for anyone working toward their GVB.

A short parkland course does not reward brute distance — it rewards a clean, repeatable strike and a steady short game. That is the part I most enjoy teaching, because it is where new golfers improve fastest and start to feel calm on the course. Many new golfers tell me the same thing: they were nervous the first time, and then the nerves turned into fun. Heiloo is a lovely place for exactly that.
Yes, a GVB (the Dutch golf introductory certificate) or an equivalent handicap is required to play. If you are new to golf, the club's own academy is a patient and friendly place to earn your GVB before stepping onto the course.

Very much so. The gentle nine-hole parkland layout, the on-site golf academy and a dedicated junior programme make Heiloo one of the most welcoming clubs in Noord-Holland. Young and new golfers feel at home here from the first visit.
