Jol’s three nines, since 2000

Golfclub Delfland opened in 2000 at Schipluiden, in Zuid-Holland, and architect Gerard Jol gave it 27 holes: three nine-hole loops you can mix into 9, 18 or a full 27, par 72. It is parkland golf — open, green and walkable.

Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it scores 8.1 out of 10 from 1,147 ratings; Hole19 golfers give it 4.4 out of 5 across 457 reviews, and Tripadvisor adds 4.0 out of 5 from 13 (checked 26 September 2026).

The three-loop layout is the thing to know here. Three fresh nines means you choose how much golf your day has time for: a quick nine after work, or all 27 when you want a long one.

Delfland is a parkland course of moderate difficulty, and it leans toward golfers who are building a steady game — improving players, and juniors, for whom the club runs a full academy and a junior programme on site.

Playing here as a visitor

Delfland is pay-and-play, so you book and pay online, no membership needed. The green fee is €37 for nine holes and €68.50 for eighteen, and the club is open year-round. golf.nl records that the three 9-hole loops, Rood, Geel and Blauw, ask for Handicap 54, while the par-3 course needs only an NGF baanpermissie (checked 26 September 2026). So a complete beginner can start on the par-3 holes and move up to the loops once the card is in hand.

For practice there is a driving range and a putting green, a pro shop and a restaurant, and the golf academy for lessons on the spot.

Marina's note for learners

I always tell new players to start on the par-3 course — it only needs an NGF baanpermissie, and it is the perfect place to build a consistent chip and putting stroke. Earn Handicap 54 there, and Jol's three nines are waiting.

The road to Handicap 54

Those three loops ask for Handicap 54, and that number is really a short-game number: the strokes you save around and on the green are what carry you there. Before a round at Delfland, the part I most love to teach is exactly that — a dependable chip, a calm putting stroke, a swing you can repeat. Build those, and the step up from the par-3 course to Jol’s nines feels natural.
