Golfclub De Wouwse Plantage sits in quiet nature between Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal, and it has been welcoming golfers here since 1973. The layout is 18 holes in two nine-hole loops, and each loop has its own character. The club describes the course in two halves: forest holes with sand drifts along one side, and a parkland section with a stream and water features on the other. That mix of tall trees and open water is what gives the round its shape — you think about where the ball lands, not only how far it flies.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.4 out of 10 from 619 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.7 out of 5 from 106 ratings — steady, happy numbers from people who have played it.
This is a challenging woodland and parkland course, so it suits golfers who already hold a handicap and enjoy shaping a shot between the trees. Juniors are welcome too: the club runs a junior programme and has a short course, so younger players grow at their own pace. There is a ladies programme as well.
De Wouwse Plantage is a members’ club that opens its doors to guests, with one clear rule: you need a valid handicap and an introduction from a member. It is not a walk-in course. You can book your tee time online, and the green fee is €90 for 18 holes or €45 for 9.
Practice is well covered. There is a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers, plus a golf academy on site. After the round, the restaurant, bar and terrace make a relaxed spot for lunch or a drink, and there is parking at the club.
★ Suits: golfers with a handicap who enjoy tree-lined placement challenges; juniors building skills in a dedicated programme; ladies groups.

Marina's note for learners
A course laid out through forest and parkland with water features rewards golfers who can commit to a shot and choose the right club — two skills I love to build with students before they tackle a layout like this.

Baanrapport: Wouwse Plantage
Play video · privacy-friendly playerA wooded course like this rewards the player who commits to a target and picks the right club, not the one who simply swings hard. Placement off the tee and a confident, repeatable swing keep you out of the sand drifts and away from the water. That steady, thoughtful side of the game is exactly what I most enjoy building with students at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen.

A great idea — De Wouwse Plantage is a challenging 18-hole course where tree-lined holes and water features make placement and club selection crucial.
