Golfclub De Stippelberg sits just south of the De Stippelberg nature reserve in Gemert-Bakel, on a complex of more than 90 hectares. The name comes from the old drifting sand dunes — stuifduinen — that shaped the original estate, and today the layout runs across open heathland with large water features threaded through it. It is a heathland course in the truest sense: sandy soil, heather, and space to breathe.
There are 27 holes here, set out as three nine-hole loops, and golf.nl lists it as an NGF-affiliated club that has been filmed for its own baanrapport. That means you can play a quick nine or combine loops for a longer day, with a fresh set of tee shots each time. Golfers rate it warmly — on LeadingCourses it holds 8.5 out of 10 from 1,974 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.4 out of 5 from 29 ratings.
Suits: this is a championship routing, so it rewards accomplished players who enjoy thinking their way around water and heather first. But improvers and families are just as welcome — there is a driving range, a putting green, an on-site golf academy, and a dedicated junior programme, so younger players and beginners have real room to grow.
You do not need to be a member to play De Stippelberg. Visitors are welcome, but you do need a valid NGF handicap card (GVB) to tee off, so bring yours. Booking a tee time online is the easiest way to secure your start, especially at the weekend.
Green fees are friendly for what you get: €25 for nine holes and €62.50 for eighteen, with a restaurant and a bar terrace waiting when you finish. The course is open year-round, so heathland golf here is not only a summer pleasure.
★ Suits: accomplished players taking on a championship heathland routing, improvers building their game at the on-site academy, junior golfers, and families looking for varied year-round play.

Marina's note for learners
A championship layout with water threaded through 27 holes rewards careful shot selection far more than raw distance — that balance of risk management and route-planning is exactly what I work through with students before a round on a course like this. Bring your valid NGF handicap card and book a tee time online before you go.

Play video · privacy-friendly playerA championship layout with water running through 27 holes asks for good decisions long before it asks for length. Knowing when to lay up, which line to take over a hazard, and how to place your ball for the next shot matters more than raw power. That balance of course management and a repeatable swing is exactly the part of the game I most enjoy teaching before a round on a course like this.

Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not at De Stippelberg itself. A lesson with her is a great way to work on course management and shot selection before taking on a 27-hole championship heathland layout.
