Polder golf since 1985

Golfpark Almkreek sits in the open polder at Almkerk, in Noord-Brabant. From the club’s own description, it is an 18-hole parkland course, par 72, running about 5,380 metres over two loops, with sloots, water and farm views across the flat green land. The course has welcomed golfers since 1985.

Other golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 7.6 out of 10 from 546 ratings, and on Hole19 it sits at 4.0 out of 5 from 135 ratings (checked 26 September 2026). Those are the numbers of a course people come back to.

Who does it suit? The wide, open fairways and the on-site academy make it a welcoming place for golfers who want to improve their game, and an easy-going one for a social round with friends. Beginners have room here, and a short-course option to build confidence.

Practice under the lights

You are welcome as a visitor with an introduction, so bring a valid golf card — a GVB or handicap — and book your tee time online in advance. An 18-hole green fee is around €52, which keeps a full round affordable for this part of Brabant.

The practice side is genuinely strong. There is a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers, plus a covered, lit driving range — my favourite detail, because it means you can still hit balls on a dark winter evening. Afterwards there is a restaurant, bar and terrace looking out over the polder.

Marina's note for learners

I always point improvers towards open parkland when they want to work on course management — the space off the tee lets you focus on the shots that matter most, around the green. Bring a valid golf card (GVB or equivalent), book your tee time online, and give yourself time on the driving range before you head out.

Where scores are saved

Two loops of open parkland give you space off the tee, so the round is won and lost around the green — the chip, the pitch, that first putt under pressure. This is the part of golf I most enjoy teaching, and a friendly course like Almkreek is exactly where a newer player finds the room to grow into it.

Good to know

Do I need a handicap or GVB card to play at Golfclub Almkreek?

Yes — you need a valid GVB card or handicap certificate to play here. The course is open to visitors with an introduction, so no membership is needed; just bring your NGF card or equivalent and book your tee time online in advance.

How much does a green fee cost?

An 18-hole green fee is around €52, making Almkreek one of the more affordable full-length courses in Noord-Brabant. Check current rates at hollandschegolfclub.nl or call 0183-403592 before your visit.

Can I book a tee time online?

Yes, online booking is available. Go to the Almkreek page on hollandschegolfclub.nl, pick your slot, and pay in advance — quick and straightforward.

Is Almkreek a good course for beginners or improvers?

Yes. The course is rated easy, there is a short-course option to build confidence, and the practice facilities are excellent — a covered and lit driving range, putting green, short-game area, practice bunkers, and an on-site academy. Plenty of room to learn and improve at your own pace.

What is there to do after the round?

The club has a restaurant, bar, and terrace with wide open polder views — a lovely spot for coffee or lunch after eighteen holes.

Does Marina Romanik teach at Almkreek?

Marina Romanik (PGA) teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, not at Almkreek. A lesson with Marina before your visit is a great way to sharpen your game and get the most out of Almkreek's open polder fairways.
