Golfbaan Het Rijk van Nijmegen sits in Groesbeek, in the rolling country of the Zevenheuvelenweg — one of the rare corners of the Netherlands where a golf course actually goes up and down. The club counts 45 holes across four loops, par 72, laid out through mature woodland. The Nijmegen course is parkland with more than 75 bunkers, and from the higher ground you look out toward the German border. This is quiet, tree-lined golf, not a wind-swept links.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.1 out of 10 from 1,915 ratings, and it took a Golfers’ Choice 2026 place at #10 in Gelderland (#65 in the Netherlands). Google reviewers give it 4.5 out of 5 across 665 reviews, and on Hole19 it sits at 4.4 from 289 — steady, happy numbers from people who keep coming back.
Suits: this is a course that welcomes almost everyone. Because the loops give you real choice, you can play a gentle nine or a full round; the woodland setting rewards a golfer who enjoys placing the ball more than crushing it. Confident beginners, improving players and golfers who simply love a peaceful day out in nature will feel very at home here.
Here is the good news for anyone still learning: Het Rijk van Nijmegen is pay-and-play, so you do not need a Dutch GVB or a handicap card to book. Visitors are welcome and you can reserve a tee time online (verified 25 September 2026). A full 18-hole round is €66; nine holes is €48.
For practice there is a driving range, a putting green and an on-site golf academy, plus a restaurant, terrace, and buggy and club rental. It is set up to make an easy, relaxed day of golf.
★ Suits: improving players, confident beginners, and golfers who enjoy course management and placement over raw power on tree-lined, hilly parkland.

Marina's note for learners
Woodland golf rewards a straight, repeatable swing — tree lines and 75-plus bunkers punish the wide shot far more than an open links would. A few sessions focused on ball flight and course management will turn a round here from a challenge into a genuine pleasure.

Woodland golf like this rewards a straight, repeatable swing far more than raw power — tree lines and 75-plus bunkers punish the wild shot and forgive the well-placed one. Learning to aim, control your distance and keep the ball in play is exactly the work that turns a course like Groesbeek from a struggle into a joy. That steady, dependable swing is my favourite thing to teach.

The club has a driving range, putting green, golf academy, restaurant with terrace, and buggy and club rental — everything you need for a full, relaxed day of golf in the Gelderland hills.
Confident beginners are very welcome. The four separate nine-hole loops let you choose your distance, and the pay-and-play access means there is no membership barrier. The on-site academy is there if you want to practise or get some tips before your round.
Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen — not on site at Groesbeek. A few sessions with her focused on ball placement and a repeatable swing are a great way to get the most out of a tree-lined, hilly course like this one.
