Golfbaan Crimpenerhout is a 9-hole parkland course set in the polder at Krimpen aan de Lek, in Zuid-Holland. Bruno Steensels laid out the holes — a par 33 over 2,073 metres across flat, water-rich ground. From the club’s own description, its 8th hole is a par 5 the club calls the hardest in the Netherlands, and across the round it is water and well-placed bunkers, not length, that give this flat land its bite.
Golfers on LeadingCourses give it 7.5 out of 10 from 133 ratings, and Hole19 golfers score it 3.9 out of 5 across 46 reviews (checked 26 September 2026). The notes that come back point to a friendly, easy-going club with a quiet polder setting.
Crimpenerhout is a pay-and-play course, so it suits beginners and casual golfers first of all. The ground is flat and easy to walk, the practice area is right there, and there is no club to join before you play. More experienced golfers still get a compact round with real character, thanks to the bunkering and the water in play.
You do not need a full handicap to play Crimpenerhout, but golf.nl lists an NGF course permit — a baanpermissie — as the minimum requirement. A permit earned here or at any other course is enough, so it is an open, welcoming door rather than a members-only gate. The green fee is €25 for the 9 holes, or €35 to play the loop twice for a fuller day, and you can book your tee time online. The course is open year-round.
For practice there is a covered and lit driving range, a putting green and a short-game area, plus a golf academy on site. The clubhouse has a pro shop, a restaurant, and a bar with a terrace, and buggies and trolleys are available to rent.
★ Suits: beginners and casual players first; also golfers wanting a compact, well-bunkered parkland round without a membership — a baanpermissie from any course is enough to play.

Marina's note for learners
Before a round on a course like this, I focus entirely on wedge control and clean putting — compact parkland with water and well-placed bunkers is exactly where that work pays off fastest. A tidy short game will beat a long one here every single time.

Steensels gave this flat polder its challenge with water and bunkers rather than length, so clean wedges and a steady putter matter far more here than raw distance. Before a round on ground like this, I most enjoy working with players on wedge control and smooth putting — on a compact, well-bunkered course, that is the quickest way to shave real strokes off a card.
No NGF handicap or GVB card is required. Golf.nl lists an NGF course permit — a baanpermissie — as the minimum: one earned here or at any other course is enough. No membership, no introduction from a member needed either.
A single loop costs €25. If you prefer a fuller day you can play the 9 holes twice for €35. Booking and payment are both available online at golfbaancrimpenerhout.nl.
Yes — online tee-time booking is available directly through the club's website, open to all visitors without a membership.
Very much so. The flat, walkable parkland keeps things low-pressure, and there is a covered and lit driving range, a putting green, and a short-game area to warm up on. A golf academy on site offers lessons whenever you need one.
Yes — the club has a restaurant, a bar, and a terrace. A relaxed spot to sit down, unwind, and talk through your round.
