Golf Amsteldijk is a 9-hole course in Amstelveen, laid out along the river Amstel. The club opened in 2012 to a design by Allen Rijks and, on its own website, calls it a 20-hectare inland-links layout — open fairways running beside the water, with the Nesserlaan on one side. Par is 34 over about 2,600 metres, and the nine can be played as two loops when you want a longer round.
Golfers give it a warm reception. On LeadingCourses it holds 7.1 out of 10 from 399 ratings, which for a young pay-and-play course is a friendly, dependable score.
Getting on the course is simple. It is pay-and-play, visitors are welcome, and you book your tee time online at the club’s site. A round of nine costs €33.50, or €63 if you go round twice for a full eighteen. It stays open year-round, so a bright winter morning is as open to you as a summer evening.
Suits: this is a lovely place to begin, or to keep your game ticking over. The club runs a junior programme and a golf academy, keeps club rental on hand, and welcomes new golfers warmly — so a first-timer, a family, or an improver looking for relaxed, honest holes will feel right at home. Stronger players enjoy it too, as a quick, well-kept nine when time is short.
The practice side here is genuinely good. The club lists a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers — everything you need to warm up properly or to spend a session fixing one part of your game. A restaurant, bar and terrace round off the day, and buggies are there if you would rather ride.
★ Suits: beginners, juniors, families, and golfers looking for a well-equipped pay-and-play nine.

Marina's note for learners
Before a links-style round on open fairways I encourage students to spend time at the short-game area and covered range — ball control and tee placement matter far more than distance when the wind has room to work.

Good placement off the tee and a tidy short game keep your score honest here. That is the part I most enjoy helping a golfer build before a round like this.

Very much so. The club runs a junior programme and welcomes new golfers warmly. Club rental is available on site, and the compact 9-hole layout along the Amstel is manageable and enjoyable at any level.
There is a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area, and practice bunkers — a full set-up for warming up before your round or working on a specific part of your game.
Marina Romanik teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, not at Golf Amsteldijk. A lesson with her before your round is a great way to sharpen your ball control and tee placement — exactly what the open, links-style fairways here reward. The club also has its own golf academy with lessons available on site.
