Colt heathland since 1930

Eindhovensche Golf sits in the woods and heather at Valkenswaard, in North Brabant. Harry S. Colt, one of the great course architects, laid it out in 1930, and the club still plays 18 holes at par 72 across two loops. The Galgenven lake runs into the course, and from the clubhouse terrace you look out over holes 1, 9, 16 and 18 — a calm, natural setting where the design does the talking.

Golfers rate it highly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.5 out of 10 from 319 ratings, and on Hole19 it sits at 4.8 out of 5 from 59. The club also carries strong honours: 24th in Golf World’s Top 100 Continental Europe, and 3rd in North Brabant plus 17th in the Netherlands in the LeadingCourses Golfers’ Choice 2026 (checked 25 September 2026).

This is a championship-level heathland course, so it suits confident players first — golfers who enjoy thinking their way round rather than chasing raw distance. It is a course you grow into.

Playing here as a visitor

Eindhovensche Golf is a members’ club, so guests usually play through a member, and a valid handicap is required. The green fee for 18 holes is €155, and tee times can be arranged online. For practice there is plenty: a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area, practice bunkers, and a golf academy on site, so you can warm up properly before you play.

A round that rewards position

Colt courses ask you to place the ball, not just to hit it far — the smart line off the tee, the right side of the fairway, the safe part of the green. That is the part of the game I most enjoy teaching: a steady, repeatable swing and a clear plan for each hole. Build those first, and a classic heathland course like this becomes a real pleasure.
