Bernardus Golf opened in 2018 in Cromvoirt, in the province of Noord-Brabant, on a course drawn by the American architect Kyle Phillips. It plays 18 holes at par 72 across open heathland. This is young golf with a big stage already: the club hosted the KLM Open in 2023, and in 2026 it welcomes the Solheim Cup, the top team match between Europe and the United States in women’s golf.
Golfers rate it highly. On LeadingCourses it holds 9.2 out of 10 from 512 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.9 out of 5 across 121 ratings (checked 25 September 2026).
Kyle Phillips builds courses that reward good golf, and Bernardus is a full championship layout. It suits single-figure and improving golfers who want a real test and a first-class day out. If you are still early in your golf, a few lessons first will help you enjoy the design instead of fighting it.
You do not need to be a member here. Bernardus is pay-and-play, and you book your tee time online through the club’s own website. A valid handicap (NGF/GVB) is required — this is a championship course, and the club asks visitors to bring a recognised handicap before they step onto it. A green fee for 18 holes sits at the premium end, around €255, so a round here is a special-occasion day.
For practice there is a driving range, a putting green, and a short-game area, plus a golf academy on site. When you come off the course, the clubhouse has a restaurant with a bar and terrace. Buggy and club rental, lockers and showers round out a proper full-day venue.
★ Suits: single-figure and improving golfers seeking a premium championship test, and groups or special occasions that call for a full-day venue.

Marina's note for learners
Kyle Phillips courses reward precision and decision-making far more than raw power — I would encourage any student heading here to work on ball-striking and distance control before their round. A focused lesson on shot-shaping and short-game calm turns a demanding championship layout into a genuinely rewarding day.

A Kyle Phillips championship course rewards a repeatable swing and smart decisions far more than raw power. The shaping and the greens ask you to control your distance and shape a shot on purpose, not just hit hard. Sharpening ball-striking and a calm short game before a round like this is exactly the kind of work I most enjoy with a student.
